10.8.11. Check and replacement of understeering switches

It will be required to you: screw-drivers with flat and crosswise edges.

1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.

2. Remove a steering wheel (see. "Removal and installation of a steering wheel").	3. Remove a casing of a steering column (see. "Replacement of contact group of the switch (lock) of ignition").

4. Squeeze clamps and take the switch of indexes of turn and light of headlights from a connector.	5. Squeeze a clamp and disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the switch.

6. Squeeze a clamp and separate an additional block.	7. Squeeze clamps, take the switch of a cleaner and washer of a windshield from a connector …

8. … also disconnect from it a block of a plait of wires, having squeezed its clamp.

9. Establish details as it should be, the return to removal.

Assembled with a connector carry out removal of understeering switches in the following order.

1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.

2. Remove a steering wheel (see. "Removal and installation of a steering wheel").	3. Remove casings of a steering column (see. "Replacement of contact group of the switch (lock) of ignition").

4. Turn out four screws of fastening …	5. … also remove the lower facing of the dashboard.

6. Squeeze clamps and separate big …	7. … and small blocks of a plait of wires of a contact ring of a safety cushion.

8. Disconnect the holder of a collar of a plait of wires of a contact ring from an arm on a steering column.	9. Turn out four screws of fastening …

10. … also remove a contact ring of a safety cushion.	11. Turn out two screws of fastening of a connector to a steering column.

12. Disconnect from understeering switches of a block of a plait of wires and separate an additional block of the switch of indexes of turn and light of headlights.

13. Remove a connector from a steering column and disconnect from it a wire.

14. Establish details as it should be, the return to removal.

Serviceability of understeering switches is defined, checking correctness of short circuit of contacts at various provisions of levers. Remove switches for check and connect a control lamp on 12 V (with a current source) or an autotester with the pro-calls function of a chain to the corresponding conclusions specified in tab. 10.7 and 10.8. Transfer the switch lever to the situation corresponding to the checked contacts, – the lamp has to light up. Otherwise the switch is faulty.
