12.8. Antisliding chains

Application of chains of antisliding is admissible only on driving wheels. For the Chevrolet Lanos car are recommended for application of a chain of a class S on SAE classification (they can be also designated as chains of a series 1100, the PL type). It is allowed vystupany chains over a surface and from the inside of a wheel no more than on 15 mm. The maximum speed of the movement with chains – 50 km/h or the maximum permissible speed established by the manufacturer of chains if it less than 50 km/h. After installation of chains it is necessary to tighten their fastenings, having passed 0,5–1,0 km of a way. On roads without ice, snow and dirt of a chain need to be removed.
