3.11. The rechargeable battery is not recharged

On the car two sources of current — the rechargeable battery and the generator. The rechargeable battery is used at launch of the engine and for food by electric current of 12 V of a starter and other consumers at the idle engine.

When the engine works, the main source of current — the generator — provides with electric current all consumers, including system of ignition, and charges the rechargeable battery.

If in a combination of devices the red alarm lamp of the category of the rechargeable battery burns, so current does not come from the generator to onboard network and the stock of energy of the rechargeable battery is spent. Operation of the car with the burning alarm lamp of the category of the rechargeable battery is inadmissible as the short circuit of conducting leading to the fire in a motor compartment of the car can sometimes be the cause of fire of a lamp. Stop the car, kill the engine and define what malfunction led to fire of a lamp. If the cause of defect not in short circuit and the rechargeable battery is loaded completely, it is possible to reach to a garage and without generator, but it is better to try to eliminate malfunction on the place.
