4.3.22. Check of overall performance of the brake systemIt is desirable to check overall performance of the brake system at special brake stands (similar to the applied traffic polices when carrying out annual technical inspection of cars). As a last resort approximate complex evaluation of the work of the brake system can be executed on the flat horizontal platform closed for traffic. It is desirable that the platform was evenly covered with a thin layer of sand.
The inspection described below can be carried out only on the cars which are not equipped with ABS. If your car is equipped with anti-blocking system, then it is better to address on HUNDRED.
Accelerate the car without loading (in salon only the driver) on the I transfer to speed about 15 km/h. Sharply press a brake pedal to block wheels, and do not release it to a full stop of the car.
Go out of the car and examine the brake marks left by car wheels. If brake traces of forward wheels are slightly longer back, and length of traces is identical at the left and on the right, then the brake system is serviceable. Otherwise repair system.

PREVENTION
Do not abuse similar assessment because it is connected with the increased unilateral wear of tires.
