4.3.26. Check and adjustment of light of headlights

You carry out check and adjustment of light of headlights on the equipped car (with completely filled fuel tank, a set of tools and a spare wheel).

You will need the screw-driver with a crosswise edge.

1. Previously check and if necessary bring to norm air pressure in tires.

2. Install the car perpendicular to a smooth wall (for example, in a garage) at distance of 3 m. Put additional freight weighing 75 kg on the driver's seat. Mark on a wall the screen, as shown in fig. 4.6. The longitudinal plane of symmetry of the car has to pass across the line 0 on the screen. 3. Measure on your car height of the centers of headlights from a floor. It will be h distance on the screen.

4. Install the regulator of the electroproofreader of light of headlights on dashboards in the situation corresponding to car loading with one driver.

5. Turn on passing beam.

6. The direction of a light spot is recommended to be regulated for each headlight separately. During adjustment close the second headlight opaque material.

7. Open a cowl and, rotating adjusting screws, adjust situation on the screen of a light spot for each headlight across …	8. … and down, if the arrangement of light spots does not correspond to the drawing.

9. Headlights are considered adjusted when the upper bounds of the left parts of light spots coincide with the line 4 (see fig. 4.6), and vertical lines 1 and 2 pass through points of E1 and E2 of crossing of horizontal and inclined sites of light spots.

If on the car fog lights are established, then the direction of their beam of light needs to be adjusted only on height. Rotating the adjusting screw, achieve that the upper bounds of light spots were on the line 4 or slightly below it.
