5.14.13. Removal and installation of a pedal of an accelerator

The pedal of an accelerator is removed for replacement of plastic plugs of its axis at emergence of a scratch, jamming or the increased side play, and also for replacement of a returnable spring at its damage.

NOTE
Plugs of an axis of a pedal of an accelerator and its returnable spring can be replaced and directly on the car, but as access to a pedal is quite complicated, we recommend to remove a pedal assembled with an arm.

It will be required to you: a face key "on 12", the screw-driver.
1. Disconnect a cable of the drive of a butterfly valve from a pedal (see. "Adjustment and replacement of a cable of the drive of a butterfly valve").
2. Turn off two nuts of fastening of an arm of a pedal to a front board …
3. … also remove an accelerator pedal assembled with an arm.

4. For replacement of two plastic plugs 7 (fig. 5.26) of an axis 5 pedals remove lock washers 6 from both ends of an axis, having hooked them the screw-driver. Then take an axis 5 of openings of an arm 3, serially removing from it the plastic plug 7, a steel washer 4 and a returnable spring 8. Remove the second steel washer and the plastic plug from an axis.
    
NOTE
So details of fastening of a pedal of an accelerator look. In the photo they are located in the same order in which are installed on the car.

5. Collect a pedal of an accelerator and install it on the car as it should be, the return to dismantling and removal.
