5.7.2. Replacement of laying of a head of the block of cylinders

At detection of a leak of engine oil or cooling liquid in block head junctions with the block of cylinders remove a head and replace its laying. The leak can arise also because of a block head buckling owing to an overheat.

It will be required to you: the same tools, as for removal of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism (see. "Replacement and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and replacement of its tension roller"), a camshaft pulley (see. "Replacement of an epiploon of the camshaft"), a back cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism (see. "Removal and installation of the oil pump"), covers of a head of the block of cylinders (see. "Replacement of laying of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders"), and also a face head "on 13", keys "on 12", "on 14", "on 19", a dynamometer key.

1. Reduce pressure in a power supply system if you perform work right after a trip (see. "Pressure decrease in a power supply system").

2. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.

3. Merge cooling liquid (see. "Replacement of cooling liquid").

4. Weaken a collar of fastening of a hose of a supply of cooling liquid to a heater radiator, having squeezed its unbent ears, shift a collar on a hose …	5. … also remove a hose from a branch pipe of an inlet pipe.

6. Weaken a tension of a belt of the drive of the generator and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering and take off a belt from a generator pulley (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the generator and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering").

7. Turn out a bolt of fastening of a tension level of the generator and take away the generator from the engine, having turned it on an arm.

8. Install the piston of the 1st cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression (see. "Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression").

9. Disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the sensor of 1 index of temperature of cooling liquid and disconnect the holder 2 motor plaits from an arm.	10. Have a bite bokorezam (or knife) a collar of fastening of a wire to a hose, take a motor plait aside that it did not prevent work …

NOTE Collar of one-time use. At assembly do not forget to replace it with a new collar that the wire was surely fixed.

11. … also separate a block of a plait of wires of the sensor of concentration of oxygen.

12. Remove the air filter (see. "Removal and installation of the air filter, muffler of noise of an admission and air duct").

13. Take off a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism (see. "Replacement and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and replacement of its tension roller").

14. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the cogged pulley of the camshaft, holding a pulley from a provorachivaniye, as shown in a photo, the handles inserted into pulley openings the passatizhy and big screw-driver …	15. … and then remove a pulley.

16. Weaken a collar of fastening of a hose of a radiator to a thermostat cover …	17. … also uncover it with a branch pipe.

18. Remove a back cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism (see. "Removal and installation of the oil pump").

19. Disconnect blocks of a motor plait of wires from the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve …	20. … idling regulator...

21. … and nozzles.	22. Take a tip of a cable of the drive of a butterfly valve from a groove of the sector of throttle knot …

23. … and from an arm cut — a rubber damper of a cable also take a cable aside.

24. Disconnect hoses of system of ventilation of a case from a cover of a head of the block of cylinders, cases of the camshaft, the airbringing sleeve and an inlet pipe (see. "Cleaning of system of ventilation of a case").

25. Remove the airbringing sleeve, having disconnected it from a branch pipe of throttle knot (see. "Removal and installation of throttle knot").	26. Disconnect blocks of a plait of wires from the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid of a control system of the engine …

27. … and the electromagnetic valve of system of recirculation of the fulfilled gases.	28. Disconnect a discharge hose from the fuel pressure regulator union …

29. … and from the fuel filter — the taking-away hose, having squeezed clamps of locking elements of tips of hoses.

NOTE Need of a detachment of a hose from the fuel filter, but not from a stage is caused by the fact that its detachment from a stage requires special adaptation (see. "Removal and installation of a fuel stage") which is expedient for using only when replacing a hose.

30. Disconnect hoses of a supply and discharge of cooling liquid from branch pipes of throttle knot, having weakened collars of their fastening (see. "Removal and installation of throttle knot").	31. Disconnect an adsorber purge hose from branch pipes of throttle knot …

32. … and from an inlet pipe — a hose to the sensor of absolute pressure.	33. Weaken a collar of fastening of a hose of the vacuum amplifier of brakes, having squeezed passatizham his unbent ears, shift a collar on a hose …

34. … also disconnect a hose from an inlet pipe.	35. Disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the ignition coil.

36. Remove tips of high-voltage wires from spark plugs and remove wires, having taken out them from ignition coil nests.	37. Weaken an inhaling of the lower bolt of fastening of the supporting arm of an inlet pipe …

38. … turn out two top bolts of fastening of the supporting arm …	39. … also bring out of an arm the holder of hoses of the cooling system.

40. Disconnect a reception pipe from a final collector (see. "Replacement of a reception pipe").	41. Turn out ten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders to the block in the sequence, return that that it is shown in fig. 5.4, in three steps: turn out bolts half way, turn out bolts for a half-turn, finally turn out bolts.

PREVENTION Bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders can be turned off only on the cold engine.

42. Take bolts and remove the camshaft case …

43. … a head of the block of cylinders assembled with an inlet pipe and a final collector …

GOOD ADVICE It is more convenient to remove a head of the block of cylinders with the assistant as it is quite heavy.

44. … and its laying.	45. Clear privalochny surfaces of a head of the block and block of cylinders (surfaces have to be dry and pure) …

46. … also remove oil from carving openings in the block under bolts of fastening of a head.

PREVENTION If not to remove oil from carving openings under bolts of fastening of a head of the block, then at an inhaling of bolts in the block of cylinders there can be cracks as oil incompressible.

47. Install new laying on the block of cylinders, having centered it on two directing plugs.

48. Establish a head of the block of cylinders in the sequence, the return to removal, taking into account the following:

– surely replace laying of a head of the block new, its reuse is not allowed;

– surely replace new bolts of fastening of a head of the block as they are deformed at an inhaling and are not suitable for reuse.

Tighten bolts on the cold engine in the sequence shown in fig. 5.4 in five stages: the 1st — tighten bolts the moment of 25 N · m (2,5 kgfs · l); the 2nd — tighten bolts on a corner 60 °; the 3rd — in addition tighten bolts on a corner 60 °; the 4th — still in addition tighten bolts on a corner 60 °; the 5th — finally wrap bolts on a corner 10 °;

NOTE After the first launch of the assembled engine, its warming up up to the working temperature and full cooling after a stop tighten in addition bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders on a corner 30–50 °.

– replace new the laying of a reception pipe of system of production of the fulfilled gases deformed at an inhaling of nuts of fastening.

49. Establish all details and knots as it should be, the return to removal.

50. Adjust a tension of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism (see. "Replacement and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and replacement of its tension roller").

51. Adjust a tension of belts of the drive of the generator and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering (see. "Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the generator and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering"), and also the conditioner compressor (see. "Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the compressor of the conditioner").

52. Adjust a cable of the drive of a butterfly valve (see. "Adjustment and replacement of a cable of the drive of a butterfly valve").
