5.7.3. Replacement of oil scraper caps

External sign of wear of oil scraper caps is short-term emergence of blue smoke from an exhaust pipe after launch of the engine and when braking by the engine after the long movement under loading. At the same time constant smoking usually is not observed. Indirect signs — the increased oil consumption in the absence of external leaks and greasy electrodes of spark plugs.
It is possible to replace oil scraper caps, without removing a head of the block of cylinders from the engine, but the difficult device for compression of springs of valves without removal of the camshaft which is difficult for finding in sale for this purpose will be required. It is possible to use universal device for this purpose, having removed the camshaft case, but as the case and a head of the block of cylinders are fixed by the same bolts, it is necessary to replace laying of a head of the block surely. Therefore we recommend to replace oil scraper caps on the removed block head.
It will be required to you: all tools necessary for removal of a head of the block of cylinders (see. "Replacement of laying of a head of the block of cylinders"), tweezers for extraction of crackers from plates of springs of valves …
… and device for compression of springs of valves.
1. Remove a head of the block of cylinders (see. "Replacement of laying of a head of the block of cylinders").
2. Remove press levers and crackers of levers (see. "Replacement of hydrocompensators of valves").
3. Install the device for compression of springs of valves on a block head, having fixed it, as shown in a photo, by means of the hook made of a suitable metal bar.
4. Establish a support (it is possible to use a head of the suitable size from tool kit) under the "rassukharivayemy" valve, squeeze a spring and take out from a plate springs crackers.
5. Remove the top plate valve springs, a spring...
6. … and lower plate of a spring of the inlet valve …
7. … or mechanism of rotation of the final valve.
8. Remove passatizham from the directing valve plug an oil scraper cap.

    
NOTE
Oil scraper caps are established on the directing plugs with a small tightness therefore it is possible to remove them passatizham without risk to damage plugs.

9. Oil an internal surface of an oil scraper cap engine, advance a cap on a valve core to the directing plug and pressing of fingers put on a cap the plug against the stop.

    
PREVENTION
Establish original oil scraper caps only by hands without application of a mandrel. The attempt to napressovat a cap through a mandrel the hammer inevitably will lead to its damage.

10. Establish a spring and plates (the rotation mechanism) of the valve as it should be, the return to removal. Establish crackers by means of adaptation so that they rose in valve core pro-points. After installation of crackers strike with the hammer through a metal core a valve end face that crackers sat down on the place.

    
PREVENTION
If the crackers established with a distortion remain unrecorded, then at launch of the rassukharivshiysya engine the valve will fail in the cylinder that will lead to serious failure of the engine.

11. Similarly replace oil scraper caps of other valves.

12. Install on the engine a head of the block of cylinders, and the camshaft case on a head and tighten bolts of their fastening in the sequence shown in fig. 5.4 (see. "Replacement of laying of a head of the block of cylinders"), the moment given in the appendix 1.

    
PREVENTIONS
Surely replace laying of a head of the block of cylinders new.
Before installation of the case of the camshaft on a head of the block apply a sealant layer on the privalochny surface of the case to a head.

13. Establish all earlier removed details of the gas-distributing mechanism.
14. Adjust a tension of belts of the drive of the generator and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering (see. "Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the generator and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering"), and also the conditioner compressor (see. "Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the compressor of the conditioner").
