The drive of forward wheels (fig. 6.6) consists from external 2 and the internal 20 hinges of equal angular speeds (HEAS) connected by shaft 10. The external hinge provides a possibility only of angular movements of the connected shaft. The internal hinge in addition to angular provides also axial shifts of shaft at turn of forward wheels and work of a suspension bracket. Shaft of drives of the left and right wheels are executed different length (right more long) that is caused by configuration of a motor compartment of the car (the main transfer is displaced rather longitudinal axis of the car to the left) therefore drives are not interchanged. Hinges of equal angular speeds of both drives are identical. For decrease in vibrations the dynamic damper is fixed in transmission on a shaft of the right drive.
Special lubricant with a molybdenum disulfide is applied to lubricant of hinges (a domestic analog — SHRUS-4). Sealing of hinges is provided with rubber covers 8 and 12 (see fig. 6.6), the collars fixed on cases of hinges 7, 9, 11, 13.
GOOD ADVICE
Hinges of drives are very durable. However because of damage of protective covers they are quite often changed. Work on replacement of drives of forward wheels labor-consuming, and drives are expensive. Seriously to save the time and money, avoid damage of protective covers of hinges (for example, as a result of arrival on the wire which is sticking out of the earth) and immediately replace them at the slightest damages. If water or dust gets to the hinge through the damaged cover, it will fail through several hundreds of kilometers of a run. The tight hinge wears out extremely slowly.
