6.3.4. Replacement of hinges of equal angular speeds

If during the movement at turns of the car knocks in the forward drive are heard, check hinges of equal angular speeds. If when rocking the hand of a shaft of the drive feels a side play in the hinge or protective covers are torn, such hinge needs to be replaced. To disassemble the hinge there is practically no sense. This laborious work, and at the torn cover the dirt which got to the hinge already put hinge details out of commission. It is impossible to replace separately hinge details therefore the most optimal solution — to replace the hinge assembled. Dismantling for replacement of lubricant of the internal hinge as less subject to hit of water and road dirt is as a last resort allowed. Emergence of traces of lubricant on the hinge indicates that the cover is torn.

It will be required to you: bokoreza, stripper of lock rings, small beards, hammer.

1. Remove the drive of a forward wheel in collecting (see. "Removal and installation of drives of forward wheels").

2. Clear details and examine the drive:

– the external hinge of equal angular speeds has to turn with easy effort without breakthroughs and jammings, without radial and axial side plays. At their existence replace the hinge;

– the internal hinge has to move in the angular and axial directions with easy effort, at the same time should not be felt breakthroughs, jammings and radial side plays. Otherwise replace the internal hinge;

– protective covers of external and internal hinges should not have cracks and gaps. Replace the damaged covers;

– the shaft of the drive of wheels should not be deformed. Replace the deformed shaft.

3. Have a bite bokorezam the lock of a collar of fastening of a cover of the external hinge …	4. … also remove a collar.

NOTE Collars of fastening of protective covers of hinges of equal angular speeds of one-time use, at assembly replace them new. As a rule, collars are included in the package of the new hinge.

5. Similarly remove the second collar of fastening of a cover.	6. Shift a protective cover …

7. … unclench a lock ring a stripper of lock rings and bring down a holder from a shaft the hammer through small beards.	8. Remove the external hinge from shliyets of a shaft.

9. Take a lock ring from a holder opening.

NOTE At assembly replace a lock ring new. As a rule, it is included in the package of the new hinge.

10. Remove a protective cover.

NOTE At assembly replace a protective cover new. As a rule, the cover is included in the package of the new hinge.

11. If necessary in the same way remove the internal hinge of equal angular speeds. It has the design almost similar to a design of the external hinge (the holder of a cover is in addition established), and is fixed on a drive shaft in the same way, as external.

12. Wash out all metal details kerosene before full removal of old lubricant.

13. Before assembly fill hinges with new lubricant. If lubricant is not included in the package of the installed hinge, use SHRUS-4 lubricant or similar import.

14. Establish details as it should be, the return to removal.

15. After installation of a cover, before its fixing with collars, delay edge of a cover from the hinge case (for example, the screw-driver) to let out the excess air from a cover.

16. Check density of a prileganiye of corbels of a cover and reliability of fastening of collars. The cover should not be turned on the hinge, and collars — on a cover. Otherwise replace collars.
