8.1. Features of a design




Install steering with the steering gear wheel lath mechanism on the Chevrolet/Daewoo Lanos cars. The steering drive consists of two steering drafts connected by spherical hinges to rotary levers of telescopic racks of a forward suspension bracket. Steering column safety.

The majority of cars complete with steering with the hydraulic booster (fig. 8.1). Pressure of working liquid in the hydraulic booster is created by the pump of bladed type which is installed on the engine and given by the general with the generator a poliklinovy belt. At failure of the steering amplifier the possibility of driving remains, but the effort on a steering wheel increases.
The case of the steering mechanism is established in podkapotny space and fixed on a front board by two brackets. The shaft gear wheel of the steering mechanism is connected to a steering shaft of a steering column via the elastic coupling.
The steering mechanism without hydraulic booster has a similar design. In this book the steering mechanism with the hydraulic booster as the most difficult is considered.

The steering column (fig. 8.2) is equipped with the power absorbing device increasing passive safety of the car and the anti-theft device in the ignition lock blocking from turn a steering shaft 15. On a steering column governing bodies of light of headlights, are also placed by indexes of turn, a washer and screenwash.
