8.2.2. Removal and installation of a steering column

It will be required to you: a key "on 12", a face head "on 12" with the extender.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Remove a steering wheel (see. "Removal and installation of a steering wheel"), previously having established it in the situation corresponding to the rectilinear movement.
3. Remove understeering switches assembled with a connector (see. "Replacement of understeering switches").
4. Under the dashboard turn off a nut and take a bolt of klemmovy connection of a steering shaft and the elastic coupling.
5. Turn off a nut of the lower fastening of a steering column.
6. Turn off two nuts of fastening of a steering column to the dashboard.
7. Take a shaft of a steering shaft from the plug of the rubber coupling and remove a steering column from the car.
8. Take a steering shaft from the column case …
9. … also remove the plastic aligning plug.
10. Install the aligning plug on a steering shaft, and a shaft – in the case of a steering column.
11. Insert a shaft of a steering shaft into the rubber coupling.
12. Shift the aligning plug so that it entered the case of a steering column.
13. Tighten a nut of a coupling bolt of klemmovy connection of a steering shaft and the elastic coupling.
14. Tighten a nut of lower …
15. … and two nuts top fastenings of a steering column.
16. Shift the aligning plug on a steering shaft so that it went out of the case of a steering column.
17. Further establish details as it should be, the return to removal.
