8.3.1. Replacement of an external tip of steering draft

It will be required to you: keys "on 12", "on 17", "on 19", a key for bolts of wheels, a stripper of spherical hinges.

NOTES It is more convenient to perform work on the elevator. It is possible to execute it and on the car installed on support. Replacement of a tip is shown on the example of the left steering draft, replace the right tip similarly. Carving of the left tip right, and right — left.

1. Lift and establish on a support a forward part of the car from the replaced tip. Remove a wheel.

PREVENTION Slow down the car the parking brake and establish an antiretractable emphasis ("boots") under back wheels.

GOOD ADVICE If fasteners are strongly polluted, clear them a metal brush and process the easily getting lubricant, for example WD-40.

2. Turn off a nut of fastening of a spherical finger of a tip to the rotary lever of a telescopic rack.

NOTE Nuts of fastening of spherical fingers of external tips of steering drafts самоконтрящиеся. At each removal replace nuts new.

3. Establish a stripper of spherical hinges and a vypressuyta a finger from a lug of the rotary lever.

GOOD ADVICE In the absence of a stripper the finger of the spherical hinge can be beaten out sharp blows of the hammer to an end face of a lug of the rotary lever, striking blows along a lever axis.

4. Weaken an inhaling of a bolt of klemmovy connection of a tip of steering draft.	5. Screw together a tip from steering draft, counting quantity of turns that at installation of a new tip the convergence of wheels whenever possible did not change. If necessary keep a key draft from a provorachivaniye for sides of an adjusting bolt (are shown by an arrow).

6. Establish a new tip as it should be, the return to removal, having screwed it on steering draft on so many turns how many it was counted at removal. Moment of an inhaling of a bolt of klemmovy connection of 22 N · m, nuts of a finger of the spherical hinge of 60 N · m.

7. Check and in case of need adjust the angles of installation of wheels at service station.
