9.6.1. Replacement of the vacuum amplifier of brakes

It will be required to you: keys "on 13", "on 14", a "high" face head "on 12", passatizh, a ruler.
1. Weaken a collar of fastening of a vacuum hose to the union of the amplifier …
2. … shift a collar on a hose and disconnect a hose from the amplifier.
3. Turn off two nuts of fastening of the main brake cylinder to the vacuum amplifier …
4. … and, without disconnecting pipelines from the main cylinder, take it aside.

    
PREVENTIONS
You do not take away the main cylinder on distance bigger, than it is required for removal of the amplifier, in order to avoid damage of pipelines.
Replace the sealant of the main brake cylinder established in a nest of the case of the amplifier at each dismantling of connection new.

5. In salon under the dashboard disconnect the stoplight switch from a brake pedal arm (see. "Replacement of sensors and switches").
6. Disconnect a fork of a pusher of the vacuum amplifier from a brake pedal (see. "Removal and installation of a pedal of a brake").
7. A neck with a "high" face head turn off four nuts (the fourth nut on a photo is not visible as it is closed by an arm) fastenings of the vacuum amplifier to an arm...

NOTE
The fourth nut of fastening of the vacuum amplifier is so located to an arm.

8. … and, having a little taken away the main brake cylinder forward, remove the vacuum amplifier.
9. Remove a protective cover of a pusher.
10. Measure distance from the case of the amplifier to the center of an opening in a pusher fork. The distance has to make 278–279 mm. Otherwise adjust pusher length.
11. Holding the adjusting plug, weaken a lock-nut.
12. Turning or unscrewing the adjusting plug, change pusher length to 278–279 mm.
13. Tighten a lock-nut, holding the plug the second key.
14. If you removed the vacuum amplifier for replacement, and on the new amplifier there is no pusher (and also in case of need replacements of a pusher at wear of openings of its fork), remove a spring clamp of a pusher …
15. … take a pusher from the adjusting plug of a rod of the amplifier and install it in the plug of a rod of the new amplifier, having fixed by a spring clamp. After that check and if necessary adjust pusher length (see subitem 10-12).
16. Establish the amplifier of brakes and all removed details as it should be, the return to removal.
